The Great Hunting Knife

When i was a teenager i went camping every summer with my uncle and his boys. Those were some great times. We'd put the tent together and build the camp fire.

I remember using a hunting knife to cut branches down off the trees and carrying it for protection against wild animals like a wild fox, racoon etc. My uncle would have various knives with him for cuttin up bear meat, dear meat and squirl and after we'd eat it for dinner. "My opinon if you've never had bear meat, it tastes better then a steak at an outback or any steakhouse!"

When i would cut the branches down off the trees with my hunting knife, Id do it for 2 reasons, just for fun and to help keep the camp fire going! I would go camping in yates county alot of summers as a teenager, yates county is in south western new york state. At night in the summer time it got mighty chilly in them woods/forrest and was important to keep that camp fire goin.

My cousins and i would use a big tree for a target and we'd have a piece of chalk and we'd make a target on the tree to throw the knife and try to hit a bulls-eye, We used mainly hunting knives and antique pocket knives i believe as well, I don't ever recall getting a bulls-eye and my younger cousins didn't eather but with my uncle i remember him with his hunting knife he hit the target right in the center for a bulls-eye from like 25 feet away i was like damn..... and hes like yep thats right dude.

Hunting knives and other various knives like vintage-pocket-knives are awesome! Safety is very important though, once you know how to haddle a great knife then your ready to play the game.
