The Great Hunting Knife

When i was a teenager i went camping every summer with my uncle and his boys. Those were some great times. We'd put the tent together and build the camp fire.

I remember using a hunting knife to cut branches down off the trees and carrying it for protection against wild animals like a wild fox, racoon etc. My uncle would have various knives with him for cuttin up bear meat, dear meat and squirl and after we'd eat it for dinner. "My opinon if you've never had bear meat, it tastes better then a steak at an outback or any steakhouse!"

When i would cut the branches down off the trees with my hunting knife, Id do it for 2 reasons, just for fun and to help keep the camp fire going! I would go camping in yates county alot of summers as a teenager, yates county is in south western new york state. At night in the summer time it got mighty chilly in them woods/forrest and was important to keep that camp fire goin.

My cousins and i would use a big tree for a target and we'd have a piece of chalk and we'd make a target on the tree to throw the knife and try to hit a bulls-eye, We used mainly hunting knives and antique pocket knives i believe as well, I don't ever recall getting a bulls-eye and my younger cousins didn't eather but with my uncle i remember him with his hunting knife he hit the target right in the center for a bulls-eye from like 25 feet away i was like damn..... and hes like yep thats right dude.

Hunting knives and other various knives like vintage-pocket-knives are awesome! Safety is very important though, once you know how to haddle a great knife then your ready to play the game.

Pro wrestlers tough as knives

Ive been a wrestling fan since i was a kid, every monday night i watch raw on the usa network. I know the wwe isnt for everybody but its more popular now then its ever been. My favorite wrestler of all time is stone cold steve austin, his nickname was the rattlesnake, the texas rattlesnake and was knowned in his era as the toughest son of a bitch in the wwe but for 3 quaters of his era it was called the wwf.

Back in the days when wwe was called the wwf they had this other wwf pro wrestler named ken shamrock, before shamrock came to the wwf he was the ulitmate fighting champion in the ufc, this was back in 1995 or 1996 or both. NBC the wwf was saying when he arrived in the spring of 1997 that he was the worlds most dangerous man! Shamrock wrestled in the wwf for alittle over 2 years, he started as a big fan favorite, then he became a bad guy and joined vince mcmahons corperation. In the storyline mcmahon {the owner of the wwe} was called mr mcmahon. There was this one time where mcmahon told ken shamrock that he wasn't the sharpest knife in the droor but the most dangerous. Shamrock in time became a fan favorite again and a couple months later wrestled againest Y2J in his last aperence before returning to the ufc as a trainer to my understanding.

Back in 1996 a pro wrestler named mick foley made his debut in the wwf as mankind. This guy was a hardcore legend. In june of 1998 he had a hell in the cell match with the undertaker and during the match mankind and the undertaker both climbed on top of the cell and undertaker got the upper hand and threw mankind off of the 16 foot cell threw the anounce table! I thought his career was over i didn't even know if he would ever walk again and im sure other wwe fans felt the same, but he got up and climbed back to the top of the cell again and this time undertaker chocked slam mankind threw the top of the cell and landed in the ring with a steel chair bouncing off mankinds face! I remember jim ross saying good god good god will somebody stop the dam match.. enoughs enough. But mankind got up again and kepted going after undertaker and had the upper hand, then mankind got out a bag of thumbtacts and dumped um in center of the ring. Undertaker ended up giving mankind a chokeslam on the tacts. Those tacts are like being stabed by knives that hadda be awful. Anyway undertaker gave mankind the tomestone piledriver and got the 1 2 3 and won the match. Mankind was also knowed as cactus jack and dude love in his other gimics in the sports entertainment storyline. Hes not only as tough as knives but is the toughest hardcore legend of all time not just in the wwe but in pro wrestling history in my opinon.

How to stay safe using a knife

Most people are fascinated with knives. A knife can be an excellent tool to use but you need to know how to properly use, pass and care for your knife to be safe with it. Best way to start is by making a cardboard knife and practicing with that. Then when you have learned all the rules that apply to knives, you will be ready to move to the real thing.

Some people, mostly young feel that it will be safer for them to carry a knife as it is the best way to be protected. The scariest thing about knives is just how dangerous they actually are. Its easy to think of using a knife like vintage-pocket-knives, antique pocket knives, or case brand pocket knives for defence only and that if you jab someone's arm or leg that it would be ok, the fact is that there is no safe place to assault another person with a knife or any dangerous weapon. You can bleed to death from a small wound in the wrong place.

You need to feel safe but there are better ways then aiming yourself with a deadly weapon like a knife, because you could see yourself spending time in jail or as a victim yourself, eather when someone takes your knife and stabs you, or you are targeted as part of a revenge attack.

Always remember, a knife is a tool, not a toy!!!!! And knifes like vintage-pocket-knives, antique pocket knives, remington-pocket-knives, buck-pocket-knives, case brand pocket knives, camillus pocket knives, queen steel pocket knives, engraved hunting knives, kabar hunting knives, cutgo knives, kershaw knives and more, are great tools to have whether your a handyman, a cowboy, a hunter, a camper, or a knife lover with or without collections.

If your knife is getting dull, have it sharpen to prevent yourself from getting an injury. To learn more about dull knives please feel free to checkout my other posts!

Once again a knife is a nice tool to have but never lose your focus when using it for your own safety and enjoy your tool!

Thanks for reading my post and i hope to have been a help for how to stay safe using a knife.

How to fix a knife

Time, temperature, light, moisture, oxidants, handling, and mishap are all factors which will eventually compromise your knife's condition.

Its important to close a folding knife like vintage-pocket-knives or even antique pocket knives slowly and carefully. Snapping your pocket knifes shut will force the blade to hit the internal parts which causes dulling to your blade.

You should always keep your blade sharp. A dull knife requires unnessary force and is more dangerous to use than a sharp knife. Some of the knife sharpening products on the market today make it virtually impossible to mess up and will always put the right edge on your blade. Never sharpen your knife on a power-grinding wheel, this may burn the temper out of your blade and weaken its intengrity.

Test for edge-sharpness and edge-uniformity by slicing newspaper pages, hold one edge and slice slowly away from you and move your blade from hilt to tip. A sharp blade will whisper threw the page. A dull blade will sound harsher as you can hear the fibers tear. Whether you own vintage-pocket-knives, antique pocket knives, remington-pocket-knives, queen steel pocket knives, kabar hunting knives, engraved hunting knives, cutgo knives, using the newspaper test you will easily beable to detect any blade nicks or uneven edge sections.

Once a knife becomes extremely dull and is to dull to have sharpen, its unsafe to ever use again!

Thanks for reading my post and i hope i helped you alittle with how to fix a knife.

How to take care of a knife

A beauiful collection of knives/swords must be taken care of properly in order for it to hold its valve.

To keep your blades in perfect shape, you will need to maintenance them several times a year. Unsheath the blade carefully and use a soft but clean cotton cloth to wipe down your blade. Then apply the appropriate polishing powder or other polishing substance carefully along the blade using the cloth rubbing it in carefully. Remove any powder or oil then re-sheath the blade.

Avoid touching the blade of any knife/sword with your fingers! The oil from your fingers can cause damage to many blades.

Proper maintenance and care for your collection is very important because a collection can be damaged from improper care or not enough care! Once pieces are damaged like for example, Vintage-pocket-knives, antique pocket knives or queen steel pocket knives, not only will the damage be unsightly, but the value of your collection will take a significant hit.

The easiest care for your collection i can think of is consider purchasing a blade care kit, which should have oil, polishing liquid or powder, special polishing papers or cloths and a care guide.

I recommend the care kit so you can keep your vintage-pocket-knives, antique pocket knives, case brand pocket knives, cutgo knives or any knife or sword collection you have to keep them looking brand spankin new!

Thanks for reading my post and i hope i've helped with how to take care of a knife.

How to clean a knife

I recommend starting with the blade of your knife, a toothbrush is a good tool to use to brush away any visible dirt or dust. If your using a toothbrush, use it very lightly as to not scratch your knife. If you see stains, use heavy attachment for the detailer. If the stain is tough to remove, use a small amount of glass cleaner like windex. I highly recommend doing this if your cleaning any antique pocket knifes, vintage-pocket-knives, or remington-pocket-knives! If your using a toothbrush, still use a small amount of glass cleaner plus scrub a little bit heavier than usual.

To clean the body of your knife, you need to get into every nook and cranny possible. Simular to your blade, remove visible dust and dirt with a brush attachment and very light strokes with the toothbrush. Same with the heavy stuff. Use the tougher attachment and a small amount of glass cleaner like windex, with a toothbrush. Heavier strokes and little cleaner. Once again this goes for, antique pocket knives, vintage-pocket-knives, and remington-pocket-knives. It also goes for knives like queen steel pocket knives, case brand pocket knives, camillus pocket knives, engraved hunting knives, kabar hunting knives, cutgo knives and kershaw knives!

The most important thing to remember for a safe knife, you should always want to extensively clean the hinge and place where the knife is folded into. If you don't, it may end up harder to unfold your knife and sooner or later not unfolding at all.

Thank you for reading my post and i hope to have helped you today with some ways on how to clean a knife!

How to sharpen a knife

Always keep an edge on your knife! Because a good sharp edge is a knife lovers best hedge against the vague uncertainties of life.

One way of sharpening a knife is a test method that are useful in a workshop. A major knife maker tests sharpness on nylon paint brushes. Tho you need an objective way to test the results, testing evaluating sharpness range from cutting silk to chopping trees.

Most people test an edge by rubbing their thumb lightly across the edge and feeling how the edge of the blade grabs as it tries to cut into the thumb pad.

Safety note: Don't cut towards yourself, and you'll never get cut.

I consider having professional knife sharpening tools if your more of a handyman. These tools can sharpen knives from case pocket knives to remington-pocket-knives, camillus pocket knives, vintage-pocket-knives, queen steel pocket knives, antique pocket knives, even engraved hunting knives and kabar hunting knives for you hunters and campers out there plus many many more!

A sharp knife is easier, faster, and safer to use then a dull knife.

Thanks for reading my post and i hope to have helped alittle with, how to sharpen a knife.

How to use a knife

There are many ways to use a knife.

For kitchen use, make sure your knife is sharp because you would need to apply more pressure with a dull knife to push it threw the ingredients your slicing. It may feel awkward the first time you try a new hand position, but once you get use to it, you'll most likely beable to not only move faster, but you'll feel more comfortable and less likely cut yourself.

A sharp knife not only cuts better but is safer to operate then a dull one.

Vintage-pocket-knives i consider a pretty sharp knife and its a folding knife where you don't need to worry about cutting yourself when its folded up in your pocket.

Antique pocket knives are pretty much the same as vintage-pocket-knives but if it seems dull, then it would be best to get another knife but keep the dull knife if you have a knife collection.

I hope i've been a help to all of you today on how to use a knife. Knives are an awesome tool to have but always keep safe using knives but enjoy them!

Hello. A knife is any cutting blade or edge, handheld or otherwise, with or without a handle. Knives started to be used over 2 million years ago! Knives are often used from slicing bread in the kitchen to carving a pumpkin on halloween. Knives are pretty common for hunters, campers or even for the sport of throwing knives at a target. The key would be to aim at the center of the target circle for a bulls-eye.

There are many different types of knives and all shapes and sizes, anywhere from pocket knives to knives, hunting knives and more! Vintage-pocket-knives are knives that open and close, these kind of vintage pocket knives are also called folding pocket knives. There are also phrases for hunting knives, theres survival hunting knives, theres custom hunting knives and you got engraved hunting knives. These kind of knives are great for woodsmen, mountian climbers or hunters. They make excellent knife collections for knife lovers! Remington-pocket-knives are great folding knives with a sharp edge on the corner of the blade and remington-pocket-knives are also considered antiques.

I hope to have been a help to everyone whos wanted to know more about knives. Thank you for reading my blog!!
